Winter’s Last Days In Ohio

The end of March usually brings the change of seasons to Ohio. This winter was an easy one. I can’t remember one day of snow bad enough to hinder travel. The Farmer’s Almanac was wrong and I’ll still buy one next year too. Even with the easy Winter, I long for warmer days.

Rarely do we just have another season show up in Central Ohio. It’s more like every change of season comes with an epic battle. The battle between Winter and Spring is the most fierce. One set of tornadoes has already ripped through the area.

These photos are from a walk downtown in a late March snow shower.

Those struggling are often found getting shelter at the fast food restaurants.

I pass by the fast food joints where people struggling go in to warm up. I’m glad my head is still above water as I see their tired slouches.

I pass by the Mark Twain memorial. To the best of my knowledge, he has no ties to Newark, Ohio. They just like him enough to want to set a while with him. Imagine writing well enough for statues of you with a book sit around random small towns 114 years after your demise. That…
